I hate to admit it, but we're nearing the final stretch of 2022. Summer is behind us and the holiday season is quickly approaching.
Throughout the year, incredible hotels have opened all over the globe, including the long-awaited Aman New York (with nightly rates over $3,000), the architecturally stunning Conrad Los Angeles and the Madrid Edition, where I stopped in for a drink at the gorgeous lobby bar earlier this year.
But there are still a few months left in the year — plenty of time for more hotels to open to guests (and for you to plan an end-of-year trip).
If you're hoping to escape the cold, there's great news. A lot of hotels and resorts we've had our eyes on are opening in Mexico. Or, if you're considering Nashville, one of the hottest hotel markets in the country, get excited for one of the most glamorous (and expensive) hotels in town.
Just remember, new hotels have been especially prone to delays thanks to supply and staffing issues. So, while these hotels all have plans to open before the ball drops in Times Square, some of them may not officially open until 2023.
It feels like hotels are opening left and right in Nashville, and new luxury entrants into the market (such as the Conrad Nashville) are giving the scene an upscale edge. Now, Four Seasons is set to make its debut late this year and is widely expected to become the most expensive hotel in town.
In a highrise downtown by the Cumberland River, this hotel will be close to the action on lower Broadway and within walking distance of the Country Music Hall of Fame, the convention center and the historic Ryman Auditorium. The hotel will include 193 rooms and 42 suites with luxe but modern design that'll make you rethink Southern style.
Guests can lounge by the seventh-floor infinity pool or hit up the spa. They can also take songwriting lessons; the hotel can even set up a visit to a recording studio to record your song. For food, Mimo will serve up Italian food with a Southern flare.
How to book: Reservations are currently open for stays in December with cash rates starting at $595 a night.
In Mexico, Hyatt will open a new iteration of its adults-only all-inclusive Zilara brand this December. Zilara is one of the most luxurious all-inclusive brands and a big hit with travelers sitting on a stash of World of Hyatt points.
Spread across 70 acres, the resort will offer a variety of room types, ranging from 474-square-foot king rooms with balconies to a 1,582-square-foot presidential suite with a terrace, plunge pool and kitchen.
Guests here surely won't go hungry. There are four restaurants, including a classic all-inclusive buffet, an upscale Italian restaurant and a sushi joint, alongside five bars and lounges including Social, a craft cocktail bar.
Additionally, guests can take advantage of multiple pools, tennis courts, wine tastings with sommeliers, nonmotorized water sports, nightly entertainment and the Zen Spa.
How to book: Find cash rates for two guests as low as $440 a night. As a Category C property in Hyatt's all-inclusive awards chart, award nights can be booked for double occupancy for 21,000, 25,000 or 29,000 points per night, depending on peak and off-peak pricing.
Virgin Hotels is expanding fast, with new locations being announced frequently, like the Denver outpost just announced for 2025. In the meantime, Sir Richard Branson's hotel brand will open its second location in Scotland in Glasgow in December.
At Virgin Hotels properties, rooms are called Chambers. The ones in Glasgow stick with the brand's tradition of dividing the room into two separate areas with a large sliding door. This provides the bathroom area (The Dressing Room) privacy from the bedroom (The Lounge). Every room features a Smeg fridge in Virgin's iconic bright red hue that's stocked with local products.
At the Commons Club, guests can enjoy food and drinks in a gold-and-leather bar and dining room or hit up Rocks for a late-night cocktail.
How to book: Opening week rates for Virgin Hotels Glasgow can be found starting at around $231 per night.

New York City isn't short on new hotels. In fact, the city has been experiencing a hotel boom of sorts over the last few months. And in late October, Hyatt's Unbound Collection is bringing another exciting new option to town, The Grayson, located in Midtown near popular tourist sights like Bryant Park and Times Square.
On arrival at this "industrial chic" hotel, guests will find a two-story steel spiral staircase on the sidewalk connecting the street with a second-level Mediterranean restaurant. Inside, 296 guest rooms — some with stunning Empire State Building views — have a sleek but homey feel with art, photographs and books.
Other highlights of The Grayson include a rooftop tequila and mezcal bar with city views.
How to book: As a Category 5 World of Hyatt hotel, award nights here range from 17,000 to 23,000 points. Cash rates start around $230.
We all know Cabo is famous for its luxury resorts, party-hard all-inclusives and stunning, rocky vistas, but have you heard of the artist haven Todos Santos, just half an hour away? If not, the recently updated Rancho Pescadero, now part of Hyatt's Unbound Collection, is a reason to get there ASAP.
The original property, located on 30 oceanfront acres, opened in 2009 with just 12 rooms. Now, the new iteration of the beautiful resort comprises 103 suites and villas that evoke the spirit of its quiet, rugged location. Most rooms here boast ocean or coastal views, but the move is to splurge for a villa with a rooftop deck or plunge pool.
This adults-only resort offers experiences like beekeeping, aerial yoga and paddle boarding, as well as local wildlife-viewing opportunities like watching baby sea turtles hatch or swimming with whale sharks. There are also adrenaline-inducing activities nearby such as ATV desert tours and surfing.
Dining options include sipping the resort's own tequila and eating authentic Mexican cuisine at Centro or snacking on fresh seafood at the poolside restaurant, Kahal.
How to book: Accepting reservations for a stay from Oct. 13 on, this Category 7 World of Hyatt resort is available from 25,000 to 35,000 points a night. Daily cash rates start at $676.
About 90 minutes from New York City, Wildflower Farms, a 140-acre resort in the Hudson Valley, might as well be a world away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Reservations will be available beginning on Oct. 1.
Here, 65 eclectic and charming cabins, cottages and suites offer something for everyone, from options with indoor fireplaces to ones with cedar hot tubs set on a private terrace.
Being in nature and connecting with the landscape is core to Wildflower Farms' philosophy. To do that, guests can help feed the resort's animals or help forage on the farm, take a fall foliage tour on an electric bike or join a botanical baking class to learn how to make "edible floral cookies ... herb-infused breads and crackers."
For dining, expect nothing less than hyper-seasonal ingredients grown locally or on-site. At Clay, new American is on the menu, while The Great Porch lobby bar and Dew Bar (a seasonal pool bar) will serve cocktails and light bites.
How to book: Cash rates start at $390 a night.
