Need Photography Products to Sell? Try These Winning Ideas

As working photographers, we have many ways to make money from our photography. Some business models involve charging fees for our being there as a photographer. Other business models include selling physical items such as photo prints and books. Some business arrangements include both.

Photobook Press has many photography products to sell in our own photography businesses. What type of photography products might your business be able to offer when partnering with a quality photo product supplier? Let’s find out!

Looking at our current photography business model helps us determine what photography products to sell. Certain genres of professional photography are more easily improved by offering physical photography products to sell to our clients.

As an example, if we are professional photographers primarily working in the wedding or portrait space, having photography products to sell is obviously an easy-to-implement idea. Books, prints, and albums are an expected offering for these genres.

Wall art and photo calendars make excellent add-ons for these images, too. Wall art is also an excellent way to gain more profit from our other styles of photography. For instance, our landscape, nature, travel, architecture, and fine art photos all work well as large-format prints.

In fact, even if we’re working with a couple for wedding photos, they may want an enlargement of one of our display images featuring natural scenes. The trick is simply to make options available and obvious. It is a good idea to have a gallery display of our photo art on the walls of our studio or office area, whether a home-based business or a separate studio.

How do we use photography products to sell? As mentioned above, simply have them already available so that we can easily point them out to our existing or prospective clients. A great idea is to have a very reliable and high-quality photography printing company in our corner - a company like Photobook Press.

Photobook Press has excellent customer service, reasonable pricing, and fast shipping for our clients that order custom photo books or wall art. Now let’s see a few of their offerings!

One of the best photography products to sell as a wedding or portrait photographer is a layflat photobook. Opening and viewing a photo book sometimes doesn’t show off our fine photography as well as we think because of that bend of the pages that often occurs.

A layflat photo book is specifically designed to overcome that issue by using a binding method with a slight amount of give. That give in the binding ensures that each page is easy to view, making viewing the photos an enjoyable experience for all.

Wall art in the form of acrylic prints is an excellent add-on item for any style of photography. Our portrait client may see that mountain lake photo we did and want one of their own, or we can explain how they could get their personalized portraits as wall art for themselves. The possibilities for wall art are virtually endless as a means of boosting our photography income.

Small or large hardcover books are another option that wedding or portrait photographers may offer as a form of a photo album. Other types of clientele, such as a realtor or architect, may appreciate a customized book of the properties they design or sell.

Any of our customers that operate their own businesses may appreciate the option of having personalized photo calendars, either for their home or office or as giveaway items for their business interests. These calendars are beautifully made yet have a low price point, making them a great budget-friendly photo product to offer to your clients.

Back to our wedding or other event clients again, softcover photo books of the events make the perfect gift item to provide for participants and guests. They come in multiple sizes and styles for whatever type of photography is being featured.

Using any or all of these ideas of photography products to sell should help improve your profits in your professional photography business. Better still, these products can boost your profits without requiring much time on your part at all! What’s not to like about that?!
